The US Treasury Department announced on Thursday that the United States had imposed anti-terrorism sanctions targeting four leaders of the Houthi group in Yemen.

For its part, Britain said that it had added four new classifications under its sanctions regime on Yemen, noting that the sanctions target the commander of the Houthi naval forces, Muhammad Ali Al-Qadiri, in addition to the Houthi Defense Minister Muhammad Nasser Al-Atefi.
Bloomberg News reported that the United States and Britain will impose new sanctions on the leaders of the Iran-allied Houthi group, which will include at least four senior figures who will be subject to an asset freeze and a travel ban.
The report added that sanctions will also be imposed on senior ministers in the Houthi administration in Yemen.
