The Telegraph reported that British warships were never able to hit ground targets belonging to the Houthi group in Yemen due to a lack of firepower.
The newspaper confirmed that this raises questions about the British Navy’s ability to confront Russia.
As stated in the newspaper article: “None of the destroyers or frigates belonging to the British Royal Navy have the ability to engage ground targets, which left the United States to carry out the majority of strikes against Houthi targets...”
The newspaper confirmed that retired British Admiral Chris Barry said that this problem revealed the inability of the British fleet to compete with the Russian and Chinese fleets.
The retired admiral continued: “The concern is that we cannot keep up with our Russian and Chinese opponents, and we will later see more and more of these problems.”
Previously, it was reported that American and British forces attacked eight Yemeni Houthi targets. Among these targets were the “underground storage facility,” as well as the locations where Houthi missile sites were located.
