The Saudi capital, Riyadh, witnessed an unexpected political movement, as the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, Dr. Rashad Al-Alimi, invited the leaders of the Yemeni parties and their leadership bodies to a meeting.
According to "Scoop24" political sources, Al-Alimi met today with the leaders of the main parties in Yemen, including the "Yemeni Congregation for Reform," the "Yemeni Socialist Party," the "Liberation Front Party," and the "Union of Popular Forces Party." The meeting came to review the latest political, economic and military developments in Yemen.
The parties stressed the importance of facing the current challenges, calling on the leadership of the Presidential Council and the Arab coalition to confront the Houthi crowds and not allow them to take the lead in the political and military arena. During the meeting, focus was also placed on the economic situation and the effects of the currency deterioration and power outages.
The meeting also discussed the political and military moves of the United States, Britain, and the European Union in the Red Sea file. The parties called on the leadership of the Presidential Council to invite the American and British ambassadors to clarify what is happening in the Red Sea and to support legitimacy in militarily controlling the Yemeni coast.
The parties expressed their rejection of what they described as the “British-American play” with the Houthi group, according to Scoop24 sources, and stressed the need to support the legitimate government in regaining control over the port of Hodeidah and canceling the Stockholm Agreement, which restricts the liberation of the city from the control of the Houthi militias.
