The US Ambassador to Yemen, Stephen Fagin, issued a statement in which he congratulated Minister Ahmed bin Mubarak on assuming the position of Prime Minister of the Government of Yemen.

Fagin expressed his appreciation for the close partnership that brought together the United States with Bin Mubarak during his work as Yemen’s ambassador to Washington and Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Fagin stressed the United States' aspiration to continue cooperation with Ben Mubarak in his new position as Prime Minister.

Fagin also expressed his gratitude to former Prime Minister, Maeen Abdulmalik, for his great services to the Yemeni people and his steadfast support for US-Yemeni relations.

Fagin pointed out that Abdul-Malik contributed to leading his country during one of the most difficult periods in its history, by working to restore effective governance and putting Yemen on the path to a peaceful future.

Fagin wished the former Prime Minister all the best in his future endeavours.
