The United Nations website said that Guterres appointed Julian Harness from the United Kingdom as United Nations Resident Coordinator for Humanitarian Affairs in Yemen.
According to the website, the appointment came based on the approval of the Yemeni government, and that Harness began his duties this week, succeeding former coordinator David Gresley.
At the end of last January, the Houthi militia asked American and British employees working for the United Nations and humanitarian organizations to leave Sanaa within a month, in response to attacks by the United States and Britain on targets belonging to the militia following its attacks on commercial ships in the Red Sea that it says are linked to Israel. .
