British Maritime Trade Operations announced, this evening, Monday, that it had received two reports of an accident in the Red Sea north of Djibouti, the capital, and another 90 nautical miles west of Jizan.

The Iran-backed Houthi militia claimed to have targeted two American warships in the Gulf of Aden, the “Sea Champion” and the “Navis Fortuna.”

The European Union announced, on Monday, the launch of the “ASPEDS” mission to protect cargo ships in the Red Sea from attacks by the Iranian-backed Houthi militia.

France, Italy, Germany and Greece participate in the European mission, with other countries joining it, and it is characterized by a purely defensive approach to ensure safe passage of goods in the Red Sea.
