The British Maritime Trade Operations Authority announced today, Wednesday, that it had received reports of witnessing an explosion and flash in the southern Red Sea, 40 nautical miles west of Hodeidah, Yemen.
The authority added in a memorandum that “the ships and crews in the vicinity of the explosion are safe, according to reports.”
Earlier, the authority announced that it had received reports of significant drone activity 40 nautical miles west of the port of Hodeidah, in the southern Red Sea.
Reuters reported that the Greek-flagged cargo ship Sea Champion arrived at the port of Aden in southern Yemen on Tuesday after being exposed to what is believed to be an accidental missile attack launched by the Houthi movement on the ship in the Red Sea.
