The International Organization for Migration provided more than a thousand solar energy systems to the displaced in Al-Khawkhah District in Al-Hudaydah Governorate.
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) announced the implementation of a “green energy” project for the benefit of hundreds of displaced families in Al-Khawkhah District, in the coastal Hodeidah Governorate, western Yemen.
The organization confirmed in its report that it had implemented a project that included providing more than 1,172 solar energy systems, to meet the urgent need for energy in the displacement sites in Al-Khawkhah, which houses many displaced families.
The report indicated that each system consists of a battery, a solar panel, and an electrical inverter for each family, which the organization’s teams installed, while organizing awareness sessions to help displaced families learn how to use and maintain solar energy systems correctly.
