The British Maritime Trade Operations Authority said on Saturday that it had received a report of an attack 15 nautical miles west of the port of Mokha, western Yemen.
The authority added in a memorandum, “The crew drove the ship to anchor and was evacuated by the military authorities.”
This coincides with the Yemeni government’s announcement of the sinking of the British ship Rubymar, loaded with fertilizers and chemicals, off the coast of Yemen, days after it was targeted by the Houthi militia and prevented from being rescued.
From time to time, the Houthis have been targeting international commercial ships with drones and missiles since mid-November, saying that they are carrying out their attacks in solidarity with the Palestinians in the war in the Gaza Strip.
