The Cairo Criminal Court in Egypt decided to refer the papers of the first accused in the murder case of the Director of the Military Industrialization Department of the Yemeni Ministry of Defense, Major General Hassan Al-Obaidi, to the Mufti, setting the April 1 session to pronounce the ruling.
It was stated in the referral order that the defendants, from the first to the fourth, killed Al-Obaidi intentionally, with premeditation, and robbed him, after they had the intention and determined to do so, by preparing for this a sedative drug (cloazepine) and a bladed weapon (a penknife), as the accused shared with them The fifth is to hide part of the stolen items.
The prosecution determined the roles of the defendants in the incident, as the third and fourth defendants drugged the victim with a drink to paralyze him, so that the first and second defendants could enter his residence and threaten him with a white weapon, but he resisted them, so they bound him with ropes “by the feet and hands,” and they dropped him to the ground, and they took turns hitting him. Until he was killed, they all seized sums of money in foreign and local currencies, some collectibles and personal belongings, in addition to a rented car that was located near his residence, and they fled.
The prosecution reported that an examination of the body revealed injuries to the head and neck and a nosebleed, and the body was found bound.
Earlier, the Public Prosecution accompanied the defendants to the crime scene to represent the crime in audio and video, to demonstrate how they committed the crime, and charged them with premeditated murder coupled with theft by force.
