Following the tragic accident involving the MV True Confidence ship in the Gulf of Aden, which resulted in the death of two sailors, a prominent leader of the Houthi militia, Mohammed Ali Al Houthi, commented on the incident and offered compensation for the victims.
In a tweet published on his official account on the “X” platform, Al-Houthi stressed that they did not intentionally target civilians, and indicated that if the American story about the accidental killing of the two sailors turns out to be true, the United States must provide compensation to these victims for the “intentional” act. .
Al-Houthi also announced the willingness of the Houthi militia to provide compensation for the “unintentional” act, similar to the compensation for civilians in Gaza that was provided by the United States and Israel.
In his announcement, Al-Houthi confirmed that the targeting operation came after the ship’s crew rejected warning messages from the Yemeni naval forces, and urged all ships to respond to the calls of the Yemeni naval forces and leave the area after the first infection.
A British authority announced that an American ship had been hit and two of its crew were killed after a fire broke out on board, and the crew was forced to abandon it and move away from it in lifeboats.
