US Secretary of the Navy, Carlos del Toro, revealed that the United States is spending one billion dollars on operations to thwart Houthi attacks in the Red Sea.
Toro said, during a session of the US Senate Appropriations Committee, that the United States spent one billion dollars to thwart Houthi attacks.
He added that his country was able to thwart more than 130 attacks by the Houthi group on military and commercial ships in the Middle East, he said.
Toro called on US representatives to approve a financial package to replenish the ammunition needed to confront Houthi operations, noting that "ammunition is very important for the ministry to confront these attacks."
He added: “We currently have approximately a billion dollars in munitions that we need to replenish, so the amount of more than two billion dollars, stipulated in the additional annex, is extremely important for our naval forces, so that we can replenish those munitions, and continue to provide Presenting the types of defensive measures we have taken over the past six and a half months.”
