Abdul Rahman Al-Muharrami, a member of the Presidential Leadership Council, held an expanded meeting today, Tuesday, at the Presidential Palace in the capital, Aden, with the local and executive authorities in Lahj Governorate, headed by the Governor, Major General Ahmed Abdullah Turki, to discuss the living, service and development conditions in the governorate, and to discuss urgent solutions to alleviate the suffering of citizens.
p>At the beginning of the meeting, which was attended by the local secretary of Lahj, Awad bin Awad Al-Salahi, its security director, Brigadier General Pilot Hussein Al-Junaidi, the president of the University of Lahj, Dr. Ahmed Mahdi Fudail, and the general directors of the directorates and directors of the ministries’ offices in the governorate, Al-Muharrami welcomed all those present, emphasizing the great position that Lahj Governorate is full of its heroic men who were - and still are - an impenetrable bulwark against the terrorist ambitions of the Houthi militia, in addition to the governorate’s role and its distinct political and cultural weight.
After that, Al-Muharrami reviewed the measures taken to strengthen the security situation in Lahj, especially in the areas close to the contact lines with the terrorist Houthi militia, touching on the plans and proposals of the local and executive authority in the governorate to deal with various challenges, including the problems of displaced persons, refugees, and smuggling.
p>With regard to the services file, the meeting addressed the governorate’s needs for basic services, especially electricity, water, health and education, and touched on the concerns and problems of its people, discussing the priority matrix of projects required in all service and development sectors in joint coordination between the Presidential Leadership Council, the government and the local authority. As well as mechanisms for transforming these priorities into executive plans and programs that meet the needs of citizens and work to alleviate their suffering.
In this regard, a member of the Presidential Leadership Council, Al-Muharrami, stressed the importance of joining efforts at the central and local levels to lift the governorate out of its current situation and improve the service and security conditions, pointing to the necessity of making good use of the great capabilities, opportunities and factors that Lahj Governorate possesses and reversing them in a way that returns To benefit the governorate and improve the living conditions of citizens.
The meeting witnessed a number of interventions by the governor of Lahj, its security director, general directors of directorates, and directors of ministries’ offices in the governorate, during which they reviewed the situation in various aspects, especially with regard to electricity and water, education, agriculture, health, care for the families of the martyrs, and treatment of the wounded. Noting that Lahj Governorate has been deprived of development for decades and is experiencing a difficult humanitarian situation compounded by the brutal Houthi war, which borders the governorate on four sides: “Al-Hadd Front, Haifan Front, Karsh Front, and Al-Musaimeer Front.”
The leaders of Lahj expressed their thanks and gratitude to the member of the Presidential Leadership Council, Abdul Rahman Al-Muharrami, for his continuous follow-up of the governorate’s situation, his constant contribution to resolving the obstacles and problems facing the conduct of its security and service work, and his keenness to listen closely to the concerns and issues of citizens and work to address them.< /p>
At the conclusion of the meeting, Al-Muharrami directed that all issues raised during the discussions be transformed into an urgent matrix and arranged according to priorities, to work on implementing them.
