The Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf affirmed its support for all efforts aimed at reaching a comprehensive political solution to the Yemeni crisis, in accordance with the three terms of reference represented in the Gulf Initiative and its implementation mechanism.
This came during today’s reception by Mr. Jassim Mohammed Al-Budaiwi, Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, with Dr. Shaye’ Al-Zindani, Yemeni Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs.
During the meeting, the importance of the joint ministerial meeting of Their Highnesses, Excellencies and Excellencies the Foreign Ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries and the Republic of Yemen, which will be held next Sunday in Doha, was stressed to contribute to advancing the security and stability process for the Yemeni people.
The Secretary-General expressed emphasis on what was stated in the statement of the Supreme Council of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf in its 44th session (December 2023 - Doha), which included full support for the Presidential Leadership Council headed by Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, and the entities supporting it to achieve security and stability in Yemen.
During the meeting, the latest developments taking place in Yemen were reviewed, in addition to international and UN efforts to contribute to resolving the Yemeni issue.
