The Undersecretary of Hadhramaut Governorate, Mr. Hassan Salem Al-Jilani, witnessed this morning the conclusion of the founding workshop for the Community Peace Commission in the city of Mukalla, in the presence of the Director General of the Mukalla City Directorate, Brigadier General Abdullah Salem Bayaashout, which was implemented by the National Democratic Institute (NDI), with funding from USAID.
The agent Al-Jilani stressed the interest of the local authority, represented by the Governor of Hadramaut Governorate, Mr. Mabkhout Mubarak bin Madi, in establishing such works that discuss the most important local challenges and conflicts, the mechanism for addressing them, and developing appropriate solutions for them.
The chief program officer in Yemen at the National Democratic Institute (NDI), Muhammad Al-Kathiri, pointed out the importance of establishing such bodies aimed at discussing the most important local challenges and conflicts in the city of Mukalla and the mechanism for addressing them.
The workshop dealt with the concept of strategic planning, the interconnectedness of its elements, analysis of the internal and external environment, and the formulation of strategic goals and objectives and the statute of the Authority. The workshop concluded with the completion of the job description and during which the following were elected:
1 - Dr. Saleh bin Al-Sheikh Abu Bakr - Chairman of the committees.
2 - Dr. Abha Baawidan - Vice-Chairman.
3 - Mr. Salem Paras - Chairman of the Legal Committee.
4- Mr. Hussein Al-Akbari - Chairman of the Dhat Al-Din Reform Committee.
5 - Mr. Jalal Mahqus - Chairman of the Finance Committee.
6 - Dr. Mona Al-Amoudi - Chairman of the Monitoring and Information Committee.
7 - Mr. Muhammad Haqs - Chairman of the Media and Relations Committee General.
The body includes thirty-five members representing local, judicial, security, and academic authorities, parties, political and societal components, and trade and investment sectors, in order to coordinate and cooperate between the local authority and local influential forces, in order to preserve peace in the city of Mukalla.
