The joint ministerial meeting between the Gulf Cooperation Council and the internationally recognized Yemeni government will be held tomorrow to review the latest developments in the situation and cooperation relations between the two sides.
The Secretary General of the Cooperation Council said: Jassim Al-Budaiwi, in press statements today, Saturday, said that the foreign ministers of the GCC countries will hold, tomorrow, Sunday, in the Qatari capital, Doha, a joint ministerial meeting with the Foreign Minister of the recognized government. Ahmed Al-Zindani.
Al-Budaiwi added that the Gulf-Yemeni meeting will be held on the sidelines of the work of the 160th Ministerial Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, and will be devoted to discussing the situation in Yemen.
The meeting confirms the Council’s firm position in supporting the recognized government and ending the Yemeni crisis by reaching a political solution to the crisis in accordance with the three references, which are the Gulf Initiative and its implementation mechanism, the outcomes of the comprehensive National Dialogue Conference, and Security Council Resolution 2216, in addition to strengthening joint Gulf efforts to help... The country in a way that guarantees its stability and security.
The Gulf foreign ministers will also hold a similar meeting with their Turkish counterpart. Hakan Fidan, to discuss several topics, the most important of which is the joint action plan and ways to enhance cooperation between the Gulf Cooperation Council and Turkey in all fields.
Al-Budaiwi confirmed that the 160th ministerial meeting will discuss a number of reports regarding following up on the implementation of the decisions of the Supreme Council issued by the (44th) summit held in Doha in December 2023, as well as memorandums and reports submitted by the ministerial and technical committees and the General Secretariat, related to joint Gulf action, In addition to topics related to dialogues and strategic relations between the GCC countries and global countries and blocs, and the regional and international developments taking place in the region.
