Rabies cases have increased in areas controlled by the Houthi terrorist militia in Hodeidah Governorate, under official and media secrecy by the competent authorities.
Medical sources in Al-Zahra District, north of the city of Hodeidah, revealed an unprecedented outbreak of rabies or rabies among the residents of the region, with the lack of the vaccine required to save the lives of those infected.
The sources added that the village of Deir Abdo in the isolation of Al-Faranta, along with Deir Mani’ and Bakhshush, which is synonymous with Al-Zahra, are living in catastrophic and tragic conditions as a result of the increasing cases of dog bites, according to what was reported by the Tihama 24 website.
She explained that the number of victims, as of yesterday evening, had reached 18 victims, with the death of the child, Ahmed Abdullah Zidan Frenti, 13 years old, from Al-Faranta isolation, and the injury of 9 others, from Deir Abdo, 4 from Mahal Mani’, 3 from Deir Bakhshush, and one from Deir Al-Muradaf, and all of them are in difficult conditions.
She indicated that 5 donkeys and 4 sheep and goats were infected with rabies, and the people killed and buried them as soon as they confirmed that they were infected with the disease.
