The Assistant Political Body of the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council held, today, Sunday, June 30, 2024 AD, in the capital, Aden, headed by Dr. Nasser Al-Khubaji, Chairman of the Authority and Head of the Negotiations Affairs Unit, its regular meeting for the second half of June 2024 AD, in which it reviewed the most important developments in the political process. Related to the issue of the people of the South.

The Authority reviewed a monitoring follow-up report, which included developments in the situation in internal and external affairs, submitted by the Monitoring and Follow-up Department of the Authority.

The Commission listened to the military and security scene report submitted by Brigadier General Fadl Maabad, Head of the Moral Guidance Division of the Southern Ground Forces, to review the general military situation on the various border fighting fronts of the terrorist Houthi militia.

The Commission discussed the collapsed economic conditions in the country, stressing the need for the government to assume responsibility for stopping the deterioration in the value of the local currency, and the urgent measures that must be implemented to improve the service sector and activate revenue and production institutions.

In its meeting, the Commission discussed the latest political developments, and what is related to the efforts of the UN envoy in the road map and the ongoing negotiations in Muscat, expressing its refusal to divide the files for the political process.

The Commission affirmed its refusal to participate in any negotiations as the issue of the people of the South was not the main focus of the political process and did not meet the aspirations of the people of the South, reiterating that any dialogue or negotiation must include the framework for the issue of the people of the South, stressing that there will be no solutions or peace. Unless the issue of the people of the South is present in the various stages of dialogue or negotiation.

During its meeting, the Commission addressed the overall societal situation, the most important of which was the start of the high school certificate exams today, Sunday, for the current academic year in all governorates of the South, wishing our male and female applicants good luck and success in their academic and educational attainment.
