The Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s condemnation of the Houthi militia’s continued detention of a number of Yemeni employees working for the United Nations, the Embassy of the United States of America, international organizations, and other diplomatic missions.
The Ministry confirmed in a statement published by the Bahraini News Agency (BNA) that this constitutes a violation of the rules of international law and diplomatic norms, calling for responding to the demands of international organizations and friendly countries to release all detained employees.
The Ministry reiterated the Kingdom of Bahrain’s firm position in support of regional and international efforts to reach a comprehensive and sustainable political solution to the Yemeni crisis, in accordance with the Gulf Initiative and its implementation mechanism, the outcomes of the comprehensive National Dialogue Conference, and Security Council Resolution 2216, in a way that preserves the Republic of Yemen’s sovereignty, unity, territorial integrity and independence. It brings goodness and development to its brotherly people.
