US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced today the destruction of two Houthi radar sites and two warships in the Red Sea in the past 24 hours.
A Central Command statement published on the X website stated that "US Central Command forces succeeded in destroying two radar sites belonging to the Houthis in areas they control in Yemen." The statement added, "These sites represent imminent threats to the United States, coalition forces, and commercial ships in the region."
The statement also announced the destruction of two unmanned Houthi drone boats in the Red Sea.
The statement stated that “these boats represent imminent threats to US forces, coalition forces, and commercial ships in the region.”
US Central Command confirmed that “these measures were taken to protect freedom of navigation and make international waters safer.”
This operation comes within the framework of the ongoing efforts of the American forces to combat the threats posed by the Iranian-backed Houthi group in the region, and the United States continues to urge the Houthis to engage in a political process to resolve the conflict in Yemen.
The US Army announced yesterday the destruction of a Houthi radar in areas controlled by the group, while the group announced yesterday that it had struck 4 ships in the Red Sea.
