The Secretary-General of the United Nations, António Guterres, expressed his grave concern about the air strikes launched by the Israeli occupation army on the port of Hodeidah, which is under the control of the Houthis, and called for avoiding attacks on civilians and infrastructure.
The United Nations stated, in a statement issued by the spokesman for the Secretary-General published on its website, that Guterres expressed his deep concern about reports of air strikes, earlier today (Saturday), in and around the port of Hodeidah in Yemen, which were claimed by Israel. She said it was a response to previous Houthi attacks on Israel.
The statement indicated that initial reports indicate that the attack left a number of dead and more than 80 injured, in addition to causing serious damage to civilian infrastructure.
The Secretary-General called on all parties concerned to avoid attacks that could harm civilians and damage civilian infrastructure.
Guterres said he remained deeply concerned about the risk of further escalation in the region and urged everyone to exercise maximum restraint.
