Yemeni circles witnessed a state of shock and astonishment after the sudden failure of direct flights between Sanaa and Cairo, which was announced by the Saba Agency, which is under the control of the Houthi militia, a short while ago.
According to informed sources, these flights were dropped from the Yemeni Airlines reservations system shortly before the first flight took off, after the unilateral announcement by the Houthi militia, which wants to monopolize Yemen and operate flights without coordination with the relevant parties.
The sources confirmed that the company's official daily flight schedule still lacks any flights heading to Cairo, noting that the appearance of these flights in the system temporarily and the fact that some travelers have booked tickets is surprising.
The sources added that this sudden development raises many questions about the real reasons behind the Houthis’ announcement of the resumption of these flights without coordination with the internationally recognized Yemeni government, and without taking the necessary measures to ensure the success of these flights.
