Shrimp, which the citizen is flocking to after deprivation due to its exaggerated prices, is brought from the coast of the Red Sea (Hodeidah Governorate) in large quantities and at reasonable prices relative to its previous prices in light of the scarcity of types of fish.

Specialists attributed this to strict procedures that determined the seasons for catching shrimp. He added that the authorities there allowed catching them in the month of September 2023 AD only, and stopped the catching through very strict measures from the end of September 2023 AD until December 20, 2023, the mating and multiplication season, and when the field of fishing was opened, shrimp were present in large quantities. The local market in Aden has not seen it for years, and some attributed its availability to the ban on exporting it.

Dealers in buying and selling fish confirmed that the season was very plentiful and that the refrigerators for preserving fish were full as a result of the strict prohibition of catching during the mating and propagation stages. They confirmed that this experiment would provide general stability in the supply of all types of fish to the local and foreign markets if this measure was applied. All types of marine life must respect mating and reproduction dates, stop overfishing, and with it, the sea will inevitably recover.
