The leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries renewed their full support for the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council headed by Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi to achieve security and stability in Yemen, stressing the need to reach a comprehensive political solution in accordance with the Gulf Initiative, the outcomes of the comprehensive National Dialogue Conference, and Security Council Resolution 2216.< /p>
The final statement of the 45th session of the Supreme Council of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf welcomed the continued efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Sultanate of Oman to revive the political process in Yemen, stressing the importance of the Houthi militias’ positive engagement with international and international efforts to end the Yemeni crisis.
The Council also called on the Yemeni parties to implement the measures announced by the UN envoy, including a ceasefire and improving living conditions. He praised the Yemeni government's commitment to renewing the humanitarian truce and supporting the efforts of the United Nations and its special envoy to Yemen to reach a comprehensive political solution.
The Council expressed concern about developments in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden regions, stressing the importance of reducing escalation and respecting the right of maritime navigation. The Council also condemned foreign interference in Yemen's internal affairs and weapons smuggling to the Houthi militias.
The statement concluded by praising the Gulf states’ support for the Yemeni people through development projects and humanitarian aid.
