After a long series of speculation and controversy over his future with Real Madrid, Ukrainian goalkeeper Andriy Lunin has made a final decision to stay with the Spanish club.
Lunin succeeded in making the best use of Thibaut Courtois' injury with a cruciate ligament tear last season, as he imposed himself as a starting goalkeeper in coach Carlo Ancelotti's formation, but after the Belgian's return, things became difficult for the 25-year-old.
Mundo Deportivo newspaper said that Lunin was already preparing to leave Real this summer, however his final position was to continue for at least one season only, to be Courtois' backup goalkeeper during the 2024/2025 season.

She indicated that the player took this decision despite his awareness that he would not achieve his desire to play regularly, and it is not yet clear whether he can continue beyond the end of his contract with Merengue in June 2025, amid attempts by Real Madrid to convince him to sign a new contract.
p>The player has not decided on his position on this file yet, and if he decides not to renew, he will leave for free next summer, which is a scenario that club president Florentino Perez will try to prevent from happening in various ways.
It is worth noting that Lunin was linked to many clubs during the current summer Mercato, as the English duo Arsenal and Chelsea were the most linked to obtaining his services.
