Manchester City achieved a historic record with its difficult victory over Brighton 2-1, today, Saturday, at the Etihad Stadium, in the 9th round of the Premier League.

According to the “Squaka” statistics network, Manchester City snatched a record from its traditional rival, Manchester United.

The network explained that before today’s match, Manchester United was the English team with the most consecutive victories at home in all competitions, with 20 victories, in the 2010-2011 season.

The network added that City broke Manchester United's record in today's match, after reaching 21 wins.

Manchester City corrected its course by defeating Brighton, after losing in the previous two rounds to Wolverhampton and Arsenal.

It is noteworthy that Manchester City rose to the top of the English Premier League with this victory, after raising its score to 21 points
