Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo led his Al-Nasr team to an exciting “remontada” in the Saudi League at the expense of its guest Damak.
Al-Nasr won over Damac, 2-1, during the match that brought them together, on Saturday evening, at the “Awal Park” stadium, in the tenth round of the Saudi Professional League.
The scoreless draw dominated the first half, until George Kevin Nkoudou surprised the hosts by scoring the first goal for Damak in the second minute of stoppage time.
But free kicks were the secret to Al-Nasr’s return to the match at the beginning of the second half, with Brazilian Anderson Talisca scoring the equalizer in the 52nd minute.
After only 4 minutes, the Portuguese star scored Al-Nasr’s second goal from a free kick as well, which made Damak’s goalkeeper stand helpless, without making any attempt to confront it.
The free kick was the 61st that Cristiano Ronaldo scored in his football career, making him only 4 kicks away from his Argentine rival Lionel Messi, who scored 65 kicks.
Ronaldo and his teammates restored Al-Nasr team to victory in the Saudi Professional League, after Al-Alamy tied with Abha 2-2 in the last round.
The victory raised Al-Nasr’s score to 22 points, with which it occupies third place in the Saudi League ranking table, 4 points behind Al-Hilal, the leader, and a point behind Al-Taawoun, the runner-up.
