The Sana’a Unit team succeeded in defeating its competitor Al-Ahly with a score of (63_36) in the opening of the Super Basketball Championship for the men’s category, which is organized by the Yemeni Basketball Federation under the patronage of Mr. Nayef Al-Bakri, Minister of Youth and Sports, Mr. Mabkhout bin Madi, Governor of Hadhramaut Governorate, and Mr. Amer Al-Amiri, Deputy Governor of Hadhramaut Governorate. The players of the classification league champion, Wahda Sanaa, began their participation in the tournament with a well-deserved victory over rivals and neighbors, Ahly Sanaa, in the match that took place in the closed hall of the martyr Ali Obaid in Ma’bad, so that the team won a victory and first points in the tournament.
The first period of the match witnessed the presentation of an average level technically, with a relative advantage on the part of the Sanaa unit, which was able to decide it in its favor by (12/17), so that the team continued to take possession and control in the second half and repeat its superiority, while the performance decreased from Al-Ahly players side with a score of (14/6).
The third period of the match ended in favor of Al-Wahda with a result of (16/14). Despite the strong presence of Al-Ahly players in this session, the Sana’a Unit players did not find it difficult to resolve the fourth period (17/7), so the match ultimately ended with a victory for Al-Wahda. Sanaa with a total score of (63_36), thus ensuring a victory at the beginning of the journey.
