A Spanish League striker was suspended on charges of sexual assault

Spanish police announced on Tuesday that they had arrested Valencia football team striker Rafa Mir on suspicion of sexual assault.
A spokeswoman for the Spanish Civil Guard told AFP that the player "is under arrest on charges of sexual assault," without revealing further details.
For its part, Radio Cadena Ser and other media outlets reported that the police arrested the 27-year-old player on Monday, after two women reported sexual assault to the police about him and another man.
Reports stated that the events took place at Mir's house.
Valencia said in a statement: “The club is aware of this arrest, and in the absence of any details about it, it can only announce at the present time that it will cooperate in everything that justice may require.”
Mir joined Valencia in July on loan from Sevilla, with whom he had a six-season contract in 2021.
