On penalties... Aden Unit qualifies at the expense of Al Jazeera in the Aden Cup

The Aden Unit team succeeded in snatching the qualification ticket to the second round with a difficult victory against Al-Jazira and on penalties after the original time of the match ended in a positive draw with two goals in the match that was held at the Shahid Al-Hubaishi Stadium at the opening of the Aden Capital Football Cup Championship in its second edition for clubs, which is organized by the Federation Football in Aden is sponsored by the Aden Transitional Council and under the supervision of the Youth and Sports Office.
From the beginning, the Aden team tried to impose its control over the match and try to surprise Al-Jazira with an early goal that calmed the nerves. On the other hand, the Al-Jazira players appeared more organized and focused in these minutes and were able to score a match and reach the Al-Wahda team’s areas on more than one occasion.
Contrary to what was expected, the Al-Jazira team scored the first goal in the match, which came from Ahmed Nasser Fadl in the 20th minute of the first half. After the goal, the Aden unit tried to return to the match and launched a number of dangerous balls that almost hit one time, as the minutes passed and the end ended. The first half, with Al Jazira leading 1-0.
The players of the Aden unit did not calm down at the beginning of the second half, and they tried from the whistle of the start of the half to adjust the balance, and they had what they wanted in the 56th minute, and with the feet of Ali Huwaidi, they broke the jinx and reached the net by scoring the equalizing goal. Immediately after that, Al-Jazira wasted the opportunity to advance by missing a penalty kick. The team got it in the 60th minute, and Al Wahda goalkeeper Ali Abs performed brilliantly for it.
The match intensified in the remaining minutes, and both teams tried to create opportunities to score and steal the match. While the match was moving towards its end line, Al-Jazira player Walid Nabil snatched a second goal for his team amidst the astonishment of Al-Wahda fans, who felt that the match had ended and the team was now surrounded by the specter of an early exit from the tournament. Until the last minute of stoppage time came, the Aden unit equalized the score through Aqeel Al-Attas, so the match ended in a positive draw, with two goals for each team.
The two teams resorted to penalty kicks, which the Aden unit decided in their favor with a score of (6/5), with which they reserve a ticket to the second round to meet the Al-Minaa team next Monday afternoon.
The match was managed by a refereeing team consisting of international Firas Azhar, referee (arena), Musaab Al-Maysari (first assistant), Abdullah Al-Azani (second assistant), Yassin Khalaf Al-Lubnay (fourth referee), Abdul Karim Al-Sharjabi (match observer), and Salim Mahmoud (referees’ evaluator).< /p>
The opening meeting was attended by Engineer Nizar Haitham, Chairman of the Youth Authority of the Southern Transitional Council, Khaled Al-Zamki, Head of the Youth and Sports Administration of the Aden Transitional Council, Mahfouz Saif, Deputy Director of the Youth and Sports Office in Aden, Abdul-Jabbar Salam, President of the Football Association in Aden, and a number of sports figures.
Tomorrow, Friday, in the second match of the tournament, Al-Ahly Aden and Al-Rawda teams will play at the Martyr Al-Hubaishi Stadium in Crater.
