Reports revealed the truth about what was said about the issuance of a decision by the World Boxing Organization to ban Algerian boxer Iman Khalif for life, against the backdrop of hormonal results that the 2024 Paris Olympic gold medalist underwent, and allegations of a high level of male hormones.
Apost claimed that Olympic boxer Iman Khalif received a lifetime ban from boxing, was stripped of her medals and was refunded $25 million in prize money.
The Associated Press said that this claim is baseless, and there is no evidence that the World Boxing Organization issued such a statement.
She added: “The Inland Olympic Committee (IOC) has set a deadline of early next year for a credible governing body to replace the International Boxing Association (IBA), and the matter has been decided regarding the identity of the Algerian champion.”
The Algerian Boxing Federation also joined efforts to save Iman Khalif's future, the agency reported.
Algerian champion Iman Khalif was accused of not passing a hormonal test, when she defeated Italian Angela Carini in 46 seconds during the women's boxing competition at the last Paris Olympics.
Iman Khalif won the gold medal in the 66 kg boxing category at the Olympic Games hosted by the French capital, Paris.
Iman Khalif faced a widespread campaign of skepticism. Because she did not obtain the sexual eligibility standard from the International Boxing Federation, which prevented her from competing in the World Championship final last year.
Iman Khalif received official approval from the International Olympic Committee for her eligibility to participate in the 2024 Paris Olympics.
