The Oman national team achieved a great victory over its Kuwaiti guest, this evening, Thursday, in the Asian qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.

The Oman national team swept its Kuwaiti counterpart 4-0, in the third round of the second group in the third round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers for the Asian continent.

With this, the Omani national team achieved its first victory in the current stage of the World Cup qualifiers, while the Kuwaiti national team continued to falter.

The Omani national team took the lead in the 17th minute through Abdul Rahman Al Mushafri, and Mohsen Al Ghassani added the second goal in the 30th minute.

In the 58th minute, Al-Mushafri scored his second and third personal goal for the Oman national team, while Abdullah Fawaz completed the quadruple in the 79th minute.

The Omani team got its first 3 points in the group, occupying fourth place out of 6 teams, while the Kuwaiti team's balance stagnated at two points in sixth and final place.

The 18 teams participating in the decisive phase of the Asian World Cup qualifiers were divided into 3 groups, with 6 teams in each group.

The first two teams from each group qualify directly to the 2026 World Cup finals, while the two teams in third and fourth places move on to compete in the fourth round to compete for two tickets to the World Cup and a ticket to the global playoff.
