The Burkina Faso national team became the first to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, beating host Burundi 0-2, in the fourth round of Group Twelve.
Burkina Faso took the lead in the 5th minute through Mohamed Konate, before captain Bertrand Traoré secured the victory by scoring the second goal from a penalty kick in the 90th minute.
The Horses team qualified for the African Cup of Nations for the 14th time, and achieved its best achievement by reaching the final of the 2013 edition, while it won third place in 2017.
Burkina Faso topped Group Twelve, with 10 points from 3 wins and a draw, clinching its qualification two rounds before the end of the qualifiers, while the Burundi national team occupies third place with 3 points.
Senegal needs to win over Malawi on Tuesday, to secure the second qualification ticket from the group, as it occupies second place with 7 points.
