Real Madrid's Brazilian winger Vinicius Junior broke his silence after the humiliating defeat his team suffered against Barcelona.
Real Madrid suffered a major defeat at home, 0-4, against Barcelona in the Spanish League Clasico, which was held on Saturday evening.
During El Clasico, the Barcelona trio, Lamine Yamal, Ansu Fati and Rafinha, were subjected to racist chants from some Real Madrid fans.
Although the Royal Club condemned what happened in an official statement, and even threatened those involved, as did the Spanish League, Vinicius came out with a message of support for Yamal and his teammates.
Vinicius wrote through his account on the “X” social networking site: “It is unfortunate what happened yesterday in the Bernabéu of racist insults.”
He added: “There is no place for these criminals in our society. All my support is for the trio, Lamine, Ansu, and Rafinha.”
He concluded: “I know that Madrid and the police will do everything in their power to identify the guilty parties and punish them.”
Vinicius himself has suffered in recent years from racist chants in Spanish League stadiums.
It is noteworthy that Vinicius is awaiting his expected coronation of the Ballon d'Or for the best player in the world in 2024, during a ceremony organized by "France Football" magazine tomorrow, Monday
