Bournemouth, its guest, Manchester City, tasted the bitterness of its first defeat in the English Premier League this season, by defeating them (2-1), today, Saturday, in the tenth round matches.

Bournemouth took the lead with two goals from Antoine Semenyo and Evanilson, in the 9th and 64th minutes, while Yusko Gvardiol scored the goal to reduce City's score (82nd minute).

The defeat deprived City of the lead, and it fell to second place with 23 points, two points behind leaders Liverpool, while Bournemouth advanced to eighth place, reaching point 15.

Bournemouth was the initiator of the threat through Semenyu, who sent a shot into the middle of the goal, which Ederson had no difficulty in blocking.

With continued pressure, the hosts got what they wanted with an early goal, through Simenho, who took advantage of a perfect pass and directed the ball into the right corner.

City made the first attempt at its host's goal through Ake, who fired a shot over the goal.

A cross ball reached Haaland inside the penalty area, and he prepared it for himself perfectly, before directing a left-wing shot near the right post.

Bournemouth almost made City's task difficult, right at the start of the second half, after a dangerous opportunity that Evanilson tried to put into the net, following a wonderful effort by Semenho, but Ederson's save prevented the ball from crossing the goal line.

Evanilson increased Bournemouth's lead with a second goal, after he met a perfect cross from the left side with a direct shot, which Ederson did not succeed in preventing.

Bournemouth was close to the third goal, with a strong left shot by Tavernier, and the ball hit the post and bounced back to Smith, who strangely shot it above the empty goal.

Goalkeeper Mark Travers deprived the visiting team of a scoring opportunity when he blocked Haaland's shot from the heart of the penalty area.

But the Bournemouth goalkeeper was unable to prevent Gvardiol from finding his goal, with a perfect header that met Gundogan's cross.

City pressed with all their might in the final minutes, and Doku was the closest to scoring the net, after he penetrated from the left side into the penalty area, before firing a low shot that Travers skillfully converted into a corner.

Haaland wasted the chance of a certain goal, when he headed a corner kick, but the Bournemouth goalkeeper blocked it, before it rebounded to the Norwegian striker, who failed to put the ball back into the net, as it hit the post.

In the final moments, Foden fired a creeping shot that almost resulted in a goal for City, but the ball went past the post, ending the match with Bournemouth's surprise victory (2-1).
