Al-Hilal Saudi Club announced the absence of its Brazilian star, Neymar Jr., the team's striker, from the field after suffering a new injury during the match against Iran's Esteghlal Tehran in the AFC Elite Football Champions League, last Monday evening.
Al-Hilal said in an official statement via its account on the social media platform “X” on Wednesday evening: “The x-rays showed that Neymar Jr. suffered a tear in the posterior muscle, and he will undergo a treatment and rehabilitation program extending from four to six weeks.”
Neymar's suffering with injuries has continued since he joined Al-Hilal Saudi Arabia in the summer of 2023, coming from Paris Saint-Germain, due to a muscle injury that kept him out of the field until September 3 of the same year.
On October 18, Neymar Jr. suffered a rupture in the cruciate ligament of the knee during his country’s match against Uruguay in the qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The Brazilian star returned to the stadiums after an entire year’s absence to participate as a substitute for 13 minutes in Al Hilal’s match against Al Ain of the United Arab Emirates, which ended with a 5-4 victory for the Saudi team last October, but he was injured again in the next match against Iranian Esteghlal.
