The Egyptian Football Association announced on Thursday the complete dismissal of the referees’ committee and the appointment of a new committee headed by Yasser Abdel Raouf, after the scandal of leaking a recording from the video referee room following the match between Zamalek and the National Bank.
The Egyptian Federation explained in a statement following an emergency meeting, that it will reveal all the details related to the controversial match, in the opening round of the Premier League, after the end of the Public Prosecution’s investigations.
Zamalek won 3-2 on a penalty kick in the 98th minute, and National Bank also scored two goals from the penalty spot.
But the penalty kick for Zamalek’s victory, which was executed by Abdullah Al-Saeed, was the talk of the sports community in Egypt during the past days, especially after the leak of an audio recording of referee Mohamed Adel with the video referees during the controversy over the validity of the penalty kick.
Adel filed a complaint with the Public Prosecutor on the grounds of falsifying his vote.
