Saleh Al-Shehri scored from a controlled header for Al-Ameed’s first goal in the 25th minute, before Steven Bergwijn added the second goal from a penalty kick in the 52nd minute.
The match witnessed a remarkable brilliance by Serbian Union goalkeeper Predrag Rajkovic, who blocked many dangerous chances for the hosts.
Al-Ittihad raised its score to 27 points in first place temporarily from 9 wins and one loss, with a difference of two points from Al-Hilal, which is in second place (25 points), which will meet Al-Ittifaq on Friday in one of the summits of the tenth round.
