The Libyan national team revived its hopes of reaching the 2025 African Cup of Nations with a valuable 1-0 victory in Rwanda, with a goal scored by Fahd Mohammed near the end, to achieve its first victory in the qualifiers today, Thursday.

The two teams exchanged control of the ball during the match, and the first threat to the visiting team came when Osama Al-Shuraimi shot from a long range over the crossbar in the 36th minute.

Libya's defense blocked a dangerous opportunity for Rwanda near the end of the first half after a corner kick.

Play settled in the middle of the field after the end of the break, and it seemed that the match would end in a draw, but substitute Fahad Mohammed succeeded in scoring the winning goal with a solo shot in the 84th minute.

Libya raised its score to 4 points in fourth place, one point behind Rwanda in third place.

Nigeria leads the group and has 10 points before facing Benin, which has 6 points in second place.

Libya needs Nigeria to win its remaining two matches against Benin and Rwanda, with Libya defeating Benin in the final round of qualifiers next Monday to ensure qualification for the Nations Cup.
