Liverpool began searching for a new "network star" to add to the team's roster, after widespread news about its Egyptian star Mohamed Salah approaching departure at the end of the current season.
Keith Wyness, former CEO of Everton, Liverpool's historic rival, revealed in an interview with a podcast a few days ago that his sources informed him of Salah's departure from Anfield at the end of the season and that the Red Club is preparing a way to prepare the shocking news for the club's fans.
On Monday, former Manchester United scout Mick Brown confirmed to the same platform that Liverpool is looking for a “network star” to replace Salah, as the sports administration began searching for suitable options.
Brown said: Liverpool is working tirelessly searching for the best alternative to replace Salah. It is true that the matter is difficult as he is the best player in his position and cannot be compared to any other player, but the club is determined to find an alternative.
He continued: Liverpool is working on both possibilities, Salah’s departure and stay, but the seriousness exerted by its officials indicates that the departure is close, and therefore the search for a net star who becomes a public hero has become an urgent matter.
Salah is close to signing for free with any club, on the first of next January, as he will then enter the free period of his contract with the club.
The Egyptian star is still a mainstay in the roster of Dutch coach Arne Slot, as he scored 10 goals and provided the same assists in 17 matches with Liverpool during the current season.
