Al-Hilal reserved its place in the eighth-final round of the Asian Elite League for this season, after its draw with Al-Sadd of Qatar this evening, Tuesday.

Al Hilal settled for a 1-1 draw at Jassim bin Hamad Stadium in the fifth round of the first round of the continental championship.

Al-Zaeem raised his score to 13 points, rising to second place in the West Continent teams’ standings, ahead of Al-Nasr on goal difference, while trailing by two points behind leaders Al-Ahly.

Al-Hilal became the third team to qualify for the round of 16, despite 3 rounds remaining, as it joined Al-Ahly and Al-Nasr, who secured promotion yesterday, Monday.

It has become certain that Al-Hilal will finish the first round among the top eight teams in order, regardless of the results of the remaining matches, while the other four teams will bid farewell.

Persepolis of Iran and Pakhtakor of Uzbekistan are tied in ninth place (the first place to be eliminated) with 3 points, and therefore the maximum score that either of them can reach is 12 points, which does not affect the leader’s qualification.

The top eight teams from the West qualify to meet their counterparts from the East in the tournament's eighth-finals.
