Carlo Ancelotti, Real Madrid coach, responded to the possibility of his dismissal from his position following the loss to Liverpool by two goals, on Wednesday evening, in the fifth round of the Champions League.
A Sky Sports correspondent asked Ancelotti after the match, "A veteran and perhaps legendary and most successful coach at Real Madrid like Ancelotti might find his position threatened this season?"
The Italian coach responded calmly, “I presented a good hypothesis, and we are continuing our work with such good hypotheses.”
Carlo Ancelotti returned to lead Real Madrid for a second term in the summer of 2021, succeeding Frenchman Zinedine Zidane, who worked as Real Madrid coach in two separate periods as well.
Ancelotti led the Madrid team to win all possible titles, including three Champions League titles in 2014, 2022 and 2024.
But the Madrid team has suffered greatly since the beginning of the current season, as it suffered 3 defeats in the first 5 rounds of the Champions League, falling to 24th place.
The defending champion has three matches remaining against Atalanta in Italy, then Austria's Salzburg in Madrid, and concludes its campaign with an away match against Brest, France.
