Asian Cup 2027 qualifiers: The final round draw places Yemen in the second group

The draw for the final round of the 2027 FIFA Asian Cup qualifiers placed our country in Group Two alongside the teams of Lebanon, Bhutan and Brunei Darussalam.
The draw, which was held today at the AFC headquarters in the Malaysian capital, Kuala Lumpur, resulted in the teams of Tajikistan, the Philippines, the Maldives and East Timor being in the first group, while the third group included India, Hong Kong, Singapore and Bangladesh.
The fourth group included the teams of Thailand, Turkmenistan, China, Taipei and Sri Lanka, while the fifth group included Syria, Afghanistan, Myanmar and Pakistan, and the sixth group included the teams of Vietnam, Malaysia, Nepal and Laos.
The final round of the qualifiers will be held over six rounds in a two-stage “home and away” league system during the period between the twenty-fifth of March 2025 and the thirty-first of March 2026.
The first-place finisher in each group qualifies for the nineteenth edition of the Asian Cup, which will be held in Saudi Arabia for the first time, bringing the qualified teams to 18 teams that have already booked their qualification from the second round.
