For the first time since 2006, Messi is not included in the professional players' squad of the year

Argentine Lionel Messi was absent from the squad of the year announced by the Federation of Professional Footballers (FIFPro) on Monday, for the first time since 2006, while the list included 6 players from Real Madrid, winners of the Champions League, and 4 from Manchester City.
The lineup in the front line included Erling Haaland, Kylian Mbappe, and Vinicius Junior, at the expense of the Argentine player, who holds the record for the number of appearances in this lineup throughout the ages, with 17 times.
Jude Bellingham, a Real Madrid and England player, was the player who received the most votes, with 11,176.
Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk broke the dominance of Real Madrid and Manchester City on this year's squad.
