Manchester United achieved an unexpected victory over its rival, Manchester City, the English Premier League champion, on Sunday evening. 

Bruno Fernandes and Amad Diallo scored late goals as Man United achieved a decisive 2-1 victory over its host in the Premier League.

It seemed that Portuguese coach Ruben Amorim's team was on its way to a third consecutive defeat in the league after falling behind to a header from defender Yusco Gvardiol.

But the derby match, which lacked quality, witnessed a stunning late turn when a mistake by Mateus Nunez resulted in a penalty kick, giving Fernandez the chance to equalize from the penalty spot in the 88th minute.

Manchester City barely got over the shock, but after a few seconds, Diallo delighted the visiting fans with a wonderful goal from a tight angle.

City won only once in 11 matches in all competitions and remained in fifth place in the league standings, while United rose to 12th place.
