The late Al-Khulaifi Stadium in the city of Ataq hosted the retirement festival of the great sports star Fathi Khabbazi, the star of Shabwa Solidarity Club, Al-Tilal Club and the national teams, in a distinguished sporting event that witnessed a wide public and official presence. 

The friendly match was organized in honor of Captain Fathi Khabbazi, with the participation of Al-Tilal Club, where the retired star officiated the match in a Al-Tilal Club shirt in the first half, imitating the captain’s armband, then participated in the second half wearing a Shabwa Solidarity Club shirt. 

The match ended with the victory of Tadamon Club of Shabwa with a single goal scored by player Khaled Suwaidan in the first half. At the end of the match, star Fathi Khabbazi was bid farewell amid warm applause from the fans who attended in large numbers to honor him for his long and distinguished sporting career.

The management of Al-Tilal Club was keen to honor the retired star, as the head of the mission, Engineer Jamal Bahramuz, the club’s sports activity official, Captain Ali Awad, and the star of the good old days, Captain Jamal Nadim, presented the club’s shield in honor and loyalty to Captain Fathi Khabbazi for his great contribution to Yemeni sports. . 

The local authority in Shabwa Governorate and the Youth and Sports Office in the governorate were also honored, in addition to the Shabwa Solidarity Club, in appreciation of their role in supporting sports in the region.

It is worth noting that Captain Fathi Khabbazi is one of the most prominent football stars in Yemen, and he served the national sport with distinction over many years, whether with Al-Tilal Club or the Yemeni national team, leaving a clear mark in the history of local sports.
