The opening of the 26th Gulf Cup in Kuwait, attended by 60,000 spectators

The 26th Gulf Cup tournament opened this evening, Saturday, at Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium in Kuwait, in front of about 60,000 spectators.
Kuwait will host the Gulf Cup for the fifth time in its history after 1974, 1990, 2003 and 2017, as it is considered the country that won the tournament the most with 10 titles, followed by Iraq (4). The current competition will be held between December 21, 2024 and January 3, 2025.
The ceremony began with a speech by Sheikh Meshaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Emir of Kuwait, and then some wonderful artistic performances were launched to emulate the Gulf heritage.
The ceremony lasted for about half an hour, reminding us of the past, present and future of the Gulf region.
On the first day of the tournament, Kuwait plays Oman, and the UAE faces Qatar in the first group competitions.
