The Saudi “Al-Akhdar” achieved an exciting victory over its Yemeni counterpart, in the Arabian Gulf Cup tournament held in Kuwait, on Wednesday evening.
Despite trailing by 0-2, the Saudi team turned the score around and achieved a 3-2 victory, in an exciting match in the second group of the “Gulf 26” tournament in Kuwait.
Yemen surprised the Saudi team by scoring two early goals, in the 8th and 27th minutes, through Haroun Al-Zubaidi and Abdul Majeed Sabara.
But the Saudi Greens returned to the match, with a header from Mohamed Kanno, then a penalty kick for Musab Al-Jawir in the second half.
The Yemeni team gave a heroic performance, but was unable to prevent Saudi Arabia from scoring the “killer goal” in the 93rd minute, through striker Abdullah Al-Hamdan.
With this defeat, the Yemeni team’s position in the “Gulf 26” tournament was complicated, after it had lost its opening match against Iraq with a score of 0-1.
The Iraqi national team will face its Bahraini counterpart later on Wednesday, in the second confrontation in the group.
