Yahya Al-Ghassani followed a beautiful through pass from Fahd Al-Dhanhani, to succeed in scoring the first goal for the UAE national team in the 20th minute.
Oman coach Rashid Jaber then introduced midfielder Salah Al Yahyai, who revitalized his country's performance in the second half, so Abdul Rahman Al Mushafri was able to snatch the equalizer and qualify in the 78th minute after taking advantage of a lapse in the Emirati defence.
It seemed that the UAE national team would stun its Omani counterpart with a fatal goal after winning a penalty kick in the last minutes, but Al-Mukhaini brilliantly blocked Fabio Lima's shot from the penalty spot.
