Savinho scored his first goal with Manchester City and assisted another in Pep Guardiola's team's first victory in the last five Premier League matches, with a 2-0 victory away to struggling Leicester City on Sunday.
City, which won away from its stadium after a 70-day fast in the league, rose from seventh place to fifth after its ninth victory in 19 rounds.
The defending champion's last victory was outside Etihad Stadium, when it defeated host Wolverhampton 2-1 on October 20.
Brazilian Savinho gave the visitors the lead by following up on Phil Foden's shot, which bounced off the goalkeeper in the 21st minute.
Erling Haaland added the second goal with a header after Savinho's cross in the 74th minute, confirming the victory that eased the pressure a little on Guardiola in his 500th match with the team.
Haaland regained his smile after missing a penalty kick in the previous match during the 1-1 draw with Everton.
Leicester suffered its 11th defeat in the competition to remain in the relegation positions.
